Playing games with the Millennium

Playing bundled games

If your Millennium came with bundled game software, please read the Game Demo Information under Start/Programs/ThrustMaster/Millennium for information on setting up and running the games.

Using the Millennium with games not designed for Windows 95 DirectInput

For the Millennium to be used as a DirectInput device under Windows 95, the game software must be designed to work with Microsoft's DirectInput. Refer to the game's manual to see if it supports DirectInput.

If the game does not support DirectInput, then a game script file can be used for assigning game actions to the Millennium. Script files work both with Windows 95 games and DOS games that are run in a DOS window under Windows 95.

As a DirectInput device, the Millennium acts as a 4-axis, 4-button joystick (button S5, button S4 and the POV hat are disabled).

What about DOS games?

The Millennium can be used used with DOS games as long as they are run in a DOS window under Windows 95. The Millennium acts as a 4-axis, 4-button joystick (button S5, button S4 and the POV hat are disabled). If you wish to customize control operation, use the ThrustMapper to create a game script.

How do I use these script files?

Script files for select popular games were loaded into your computer when the ThrustMaster software was installed. You set up the Millennium to use a script file by running the ThrustMapper (available under the Start menu under Programs/ThrustMaster). If you can't find a script file for your game, you can create one with the ThrustMapper.

Go to the ThrustMapper manual.
